A Monday's Kind of Friday

Today is Friday. I'd like to be done, but it feels like I'm just beginning. The hardest part is explaining what I have to do; it sounds like a task that should be easily accomplished, but it's not. In fact it's starting to seem like a four-month project that I like to call "reading," other might see it more as a form of torture (perspective is everything). I have reading to do each and every minute of the day, and if I happen to have caught up on the assigned weekly readings (which has yet to happen) then I am expected to go out and find more, supplemental reading. Do you know Robert Munsch's book "The Dark"? Reading is my Dark, but I have yet to find the cookie jar to give it away to the garbagemen in. Hmm... did I just spoil the story?

This week had been topsy-turvy. I finished my first batch of marking and we had a TA Team meeting. It was nice if for no other reason than I discovered I was not alone in my reactions. Commiserating can be extremely reassuring. I think the week has been topsy-turvy because the boxes are starting to get to me. Not having possessions at my fingertips is starting to get to me. Not knowing where I've put things is starting to get to me. This moving business is still exhausting me - and I thought I was finished!

Anyhoo, this weekend Miles has soccer and I have reading. Hopefully we'll squeeze in a little bit of fun here and there, but I expect that fun will be the exception rather than the norm.
So, if you're in the neighbourhood, please drop by. If you're not in the neighbourhood but want to save me from my stacks (and stacks) of paper, please phone. I could use a time-out.
