Today we drove from Portland home. I both saw the Columbia River Gorge and gorged myself on all sorts of terrible food. It was truly a great day. We saw Multnomah (sp?) waterfall and a great view of the gorge at Vista Point and a lovely rose garden in Portland. It's nice to be home, though, with my computer and my stupid errands that I must run soon. Going away on vacation always makes me feel more settled at home.
Tomorrow I pick up Miles in Langley and attend Marin Reith's baby shower. I'm looking forward to seeing her, I think she's due in October so it's a good time to have a party: she won't be too big or too tired. I can't wait to see my son. I spoke to him on the phone this morning and hearing his voice made me miss him more. He still has a long way to go with mastering conversation, but when he started telling me about his breakfast this morning, peanut butter toast, I wanted to hug him!
